Expressive Arts: The Ultimate Creative Guide to Transforming Stress - Project Call for Authors
HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED the transformative power of the expressive arts? Have you always wanted to be a best-selling author? Join us to learn more about becoming a published author in this new expert collaboration from Jean Voice Dart and Laura Di Franco of Brave Healer Productions. Jean and Laura have a mission to share real stories and practical tools for alleviating stress through the expressive arts.
For more than forty-five years, Jean Voice Dart, MS, RMT, CEAT, CATP, has been a credentialed creative arts teacher, registered and licensed expressive arts therapist, and certified creative arts coach. Through the expressive arts, she has witnessed hundreds of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual transformations. Now, she is partnering with Laura Di Franco, Publisher, to create the book Expressive Arts: The Ultimate Creative Guide to Transforming Stress.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
The number of people in the United States reporting stress has increased since 2003, with 43% of men and women experiencing stress. According to the American Institute of Stress, more than 70% of those experiencing stress report that it impacts their mental and physical health. People are suffering and dying from stress-related illnesses, and for many, traditional treatments have failed. Research shows undeniable evidence that the creative arts are safe and highly effective tools in managing stress-related symptoms of depression, chronic pain, grief, trauma, and much more. However, a collaborative book of this scope is not available. You know about the positive effects of the expressive arts. People are eager to learn from your experiences with this safe, powerful healing method. Your stories are important.
WHO CAN PARTiCIPATE?
Jean and Laura are looking for men and women who have personally experienced dramatic transformation through the creative arts and are passionate about sharing their life stories and tools for managing stress. Only 25 men or women will be chosen.
HOW DO YOU DEFINE EXPRESSIVE ARTS?
Jean and Laura are looking for involvement in the arts for transformation and wellness. It can be a passive or active experience. For example, listening to someone else create music is a passive art experience, whereas creating and expressing oneself through music is an active expressive art experience. Primary categories of expressive arts include visual arts, music, dance or movement, dramatic arts, film, digital art, poetry or creative writing. The expressive arts help others express themselves, rediscover neglected pathways to healing, and embrace health and wellness.
Expressive arts experiences can include:
Jewelry making
Sculpting and modeling
Multimedia
Printmaking
Needlework
Quilt making
Glass art
Doll-making
Puppetry
Woodworking
Fabric art
Clothing design
Photography
Painting
Drawing
Music composition
Musical instrument performing
Singing
Drumming
Electronic or digital music
Dance and movement
Creative writing
Journaling
Poetry writing
Digital and graphic art
Filmmaking and videography
Dramatic arts
Storytelling
Nature art
...and much more.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Laura and Jean will outline the details of the project, what it takes to become a co-author, and the incredible benefits, followed by a Q&A. During this author session, you will meet Jean and Laura Di Franco, CEO of Brave Healer Productions, an eight-time award-winning publisher currently working on publishing her 90th best-selling book.
